About She's Alaska
She’s Alaska is a singer-songwriter duo that delivers colorful lyrics about love and life wrapped in catchy hooks and elegant acoustic and clean electric guitar. Like most duos, the group consists of two people, Eleanor Lieder (Vocals) and Cooper Moss (Vocals and Guitar).
Cooper Moss (approx. half of She's Alaska) is the former lead singer and songwriter for the pop-punk band Forest Drive. His acoustic songs have been lauded for elegant melodies and music that is “raw and beautiful.” Singer-songwriter Eleanor Lieder has a sensual, sultry voice that immediately grabs the attention of those who hear it. Her songs have been finalists in the American Songwriting Awards, Unsigned Artist, and Nashville Dreamin’.
Their music ranges from upbeat melodies with catchy guitar hooks to heart-breaking love ballads that remind you of artists like John Mayer, Oh Wonder, and Ed Sheeran. Their songs rope you in with choruses that you can't help but want to sing along with and keep you listening with the delicately crafted stories inside them.
In live performance news, they are currently organizing a series of shows for the Fall of 2017 in the Middle/East Tennessee and Northern Alabama region. In recording developments, they are almost finished recording two tracks “Nicotine” (a fire and ice love song) and “Gravity” (a love song about unexpected, irresistible romance)
They met at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) through a mutual friend who brought the two together to attend a songwriting club meeting. They heard each other play one of their original songs at the meeting and decided to arrange a co-write. Ever since, the two have been hanging out, writing, and performing together. After 4 weeks of writing, Eleanor had the idea of combining their songwriting and musical talent to form a duo. From here, they weren’t sure where to begin with a name. All the two knew was that they wanted to use the name of a state and a pronoun-contraction, and from there the name “She’s Alaska” was born. Since then, they have performed at the MTSU campus Starbucks, Main Street Live, Sub Stop, Greene Street Market, and the newly revived Bonhoeffer’s. Stay updated with their calendar of shows to see if they will be playing a show near you!
